Yarn
1 ball of 12-16 ply yarn. Any of the chunky or bulky yarns. Anything really thick or uneven will work. Some of the eyelash yarns will work quite well also.

7.5mm knitting needles

What to do
Cast on 65 stitches.
Rib for 4 rows: K1, P1
Working in garter stitch (knitting every row) knit until work measures 15-17cm.
Next row: K1, *knit 2 together, K3 repeat from * until the end of the row.
Row 2: Knit
Row 3: K1, *knit 2 together, K2 repeat from * until the end of the row.
Row 4: Knit
Row 5: K1, *knit 2 together, K1 repeat from * until the end of the row.
Row 6: Knit
Row 7: K1, *knit 2 together, K3 repeat from * until the end of the row.
Using a wool needle, draw thread through remaining stitches and fasten off.
To make up
Join the side using a flat seam.
